Csiga noodles are small Hungarian egg noodles that are traditionally prepared in chicken noodle soup for special occasions. Chicken soup containing csiga noodles was traditionally served at old country weddings because the csigas were believed to have fertility-inducing properties. These noodles are a short, tubular pasta and are hollow inside with a winding ridge spiraling up their sides.
